Therapia Lane Depot

The systems depot is at Therapia Lane, on the Beddington Industrial Estate and is on the south side of the Wimbledon branch between Therapia Lane and Beddington Lane. This was ex-railway land where old sidings had been. All tram maintenance, repairs and control functions are based here, in a purpose built building erected during 1998.

The depot has: -

  • A stabling yard to fit all 24 trams overnight
  • A double track workshop
  • Tram washing and sanding facilities
  • A wheel lathe
  • Maintenance and repair equipment
  • Pits and overhead gantries for working above and below trams
  • Tram spares
  • A Control Room
  • Office space
  • Training facilities
  • Staff facilities
  • High security
  • A British Transport Police base for the system
